It's a love it or hate it affair really. Same with the last 2 games.

I still prefer the first game but I always was going to. I can't wait to see how this game evolves though, I reckon in a few months all those stealth killers will get raped.

Yeah, true, in fact Rebellion have been called out on that a lot by people on the internet over it. The game clearly is good however and the people who actually know what games are good and what aren't will probably get it.

The demo was clearly rushed, and it's no surprise considering the amount of 12 yr olds throwing toddler-esque fits over not having one.

The demo is also a console port, but the full game isn't. It's been designed side by side with the console version. So we'll be getting dedicated servers aswell as Dx11.

Side-by-Side isn't terribly comforting, but I'll certainly be keeping an eye on this game either way. It's one of the first that hasn't completely caved in to the damn grindfest mindset that only the big companies seem keen on.

Well the designers are the same for all versions, but it's given to 2 seperate coding teams. Of course both teams share resources.

Good idea, the demo is a console port of a 10 month old code.

The single player might be ok, but the actualy multiplayer was horrible.

The aliens are too small, the level they included is boring as shit.

the controls felt clunky.

the whole sysem of getting into a game was confusing and clunky.

the predator is so overpowered, he just kept popping oout of nowhere and killing me in one hit.

the marines gun felt like a pee shooter.

the alien wall thing got really disorienting.

Aliens are about as big as in the movies, they just crouch when they walk.

The map aint the best, no.

The controls and system of finding a game is from a 10 month old console code. The matchmaking in particular will be totally revamped for release.

I find predators underpowered, I guess you kinda need to learn how to tackle them. It aint a jump in and expect to own everything game, you have to work at learning how to play.

Aim for the head at medium distance, and horde grenades. You'll find the gun starts being far more effective than meets the eye.

The alien wall climbing is very disorientating. This isn't a problem with the game, more of the whole concept of alien. You do start to get used to it though.

With good map control, use of motion tracker, smart use of sprint/stims, nade hoarding, and using block, I've come 1st in easily 90% of my games as marine. Knowledge of the first games helps but that aint to say a new player couldn't learn in a month or so, perhaps faster. It's all about being the smarter player.

Overall I'm not a huge fan of the demo and wish it was held back, but it's definitely worth a look in at the full game. I can tell you that £19.99 is worth the singleplayer at least.

Predators are complete pussies when you catch them, use your eyes.

I have to admit though I think the flashing gun is stupid and I feel sorry for anyone who's epileptic that wants to play this game. You can barely aim as a marine with that machine gun with how bright the muzzle flashes are.

Fair enough, I'd still say you should give the full game a chance though, I've played the first few levels of singleplayer and it's a lot better than this 1 map DM malarky.

I hate the flash too, that's why firing it at long range is retarded. At medium range it pwns. And I can't stress enough the importance of hoarding the grenades.

They seemed to focus on the single player a lot.
